I decided to try at home an interesting recipe for chicken liver pate. Check it out.
Ingredients for the pate: 1/2 kg. (about 1 pound) of chicken livers, 1/2 small onion, 1 garlic clove, 2 boiled yolks, 25 gr. (about 1 oz.) of butter, 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil, savory, salt, black pepper
For the decoration: 1/4 of chicken stock cube, 1/4 pack of gelatin, turmeric, pickles (gherkins), 2 boiled whites, 1 grilled and peeled red pepper, olives
Fry the onion and the garlic in the vegetable oil. In a few minutes add the chicken livers and the spices. Than strain everything including the butter and the boiled yolks. If the mixture is too thick dissolve the chicken cube and add it. The perfect pate should be easily spread on a slice of bread.
If you have special guests and you want to surprise them, pour the pate in cups and decorate it with sliced pickles, red pepper, egg whites and olives. Prepare the gelatin separately. Put it in 120 ml. /about 4 fl. oz./ of cold water. Wait until it swells up. Than add the dissolved warm chicken cube and some turmeric powder. Pour the pate cups and leave it cooling up in the fridge.
